Are Furries real?

I believe that the popularity of furries, furry oc and "fursonas" from the dawn of mankind to the present day shows that furries are living, breathing and probably magical/extradimensional creatures who exist on this plane at certain times (much like the succubus, maybe there is a reason that they are so commonly associated with good times ;^D yiff yiff).
